Ramen + Studying + Sleep Deprivation = College

I'm sure someone said this before: no parent can prepare their kid for the college experience (unless they encourage underage drinking). I have survived my first week of classes at Mizzou and I am already getting into the full college experience. My roommate, Michael is great to have around and we hang out for lunch at times. The great thing I like about college is the spacing between classes. During this time I can get my homework done and take an hour nap, which rules. For the rest of the day I'll head back to class, study, work behind the security desk at Ellis Library, and read my coursebooks plus supplementary magazines from home.

My dorm room is more spacious than most, Michael and I have bunked beds and have lots of floor access to get from one point to another without tripping over our stuff. No one has really hung around on the sixth floor lounge, but I have already hosted a couple of Cards Against Humanity games as a way to break the ice and to make friends.

As for my classes, my Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are pretty relaxing. I have a theater class for non acting majors and my theater professor is from Iran who is studying American plays of the early 20th Century. My next class is Journalism 1010. It is a pass/fail class and all students have to do is take notes from the lecturer and what branch of journalism they are studying. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, it's a whole different story. I have to wake up an hour earlier than I usually do and head straight for Human Nutrition. It seems pretty self explanatory since I have already taken High School health classes, which cover this material. After Nutrition, I make my way over to Sociology, which is more of a discussion class than a note taking class. I then have most of the day of until 3:30, which marks the start of my Principles of Journalism 1100 class.

Our first game of the season is this Saturday against UT Memphis. I really looking forward to tailgating and cheering in the Tiger's Lair student section. Hopefully, the game will be an easy win for Mizzou.

Until then,

Go Tigers!!!
